The MEDinCHAMBERS project, led by CUEIM and funded by the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, officially takes off in Rome on 14–15 January 2026, with a two-day Kick-Off Meeting at Unioncamere – Sabbatini Room.
The initiative aims to strengthen cross-border governance of textile value chains in Italy, Spain, Greece, Tunisia, Egypt, and Turkey, creating a shared knowledge network among Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce to foster collaboration, sustainability, and sector growth.
In particular, the project supports companies in adopting circular and energy-efficient practices, in line with European policies, and foresees the creation of Living Labs in the participating countries to facilitate skills transfer and the development of innovative models.
Within this context, CUEIM will lead the creation of a cross-border alliance and the definition of a common knowledge framework, contributing to the sustainable transformation of the Mediterranean textile sector.

The Kick-Off Meeting will mark the official start of project activities and bring partners together to align on objectives, activities, and next steps.
Day 1 will focus on presenting MEDinCHAMBERS’ objectives, activities, and expected results, along with an overview of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme (eligibility rules, reporting system, audit procedures, procurement, and communication). The day will also include discussions on synergies with other projects and initiatives, interactive sessions, and working tables designed to foster dialogue and gather input to guide the project’s path, with particular attention to governance challenges and opportunities to support the Mediterranean textile sector.
Day 2 will mainly focus on operational and coordination aspects, including the Steering Committee meeting, presentation of activities and outputs, reporting procedures, and digital tools to support project management, aiming to ensure a shared understanding and effective implementation of project activities.
