European policies, innovation tools and local initiatives will be at the heart of a training session promoted by CUEIM as part of the Interreg Euro-MED BIOSTARS project. The event will take place on Monday, 28 September 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Unione Montana Sirentina in Secinaro, Italy.
The initiative will be aimed at mayors, local administrators and institutional stakeholders from the Valle Subequana area, with the goal of exploring the opportunities offered by European policies and programmes to promote the circular bioeconomy, innovation and sustainable development in rural and inland areas.
The session will move from European opportunities to their potential local applications, focusing on tools and methodologies that can help territories make the most of their resources and create new opportunities for development.
Professor Lelio Iapadre will present an overview of funding opportunities, support instruments, European cooperation networks and territorial action planning. This will be followed by a presentation of the BIOSTARS Toolbox by Valentina Oliviero, who will introduce the tools, methodologies and good practices developed by the project to support local stakeholders in promoting the circular bioeconomy and rural innovation.
Valle Subequana is one of the project’s pilot areas. BIOSTARS aims to strengthen local ecosystems and foster cooperation among public administrations, businesses, cooperatives, universities, associations and local communities. In this context, local authorities will play a key role in creating favourable conditions for innovative initiatives, developing territorial networks and enhancing local resources.
The event will conclude with a discussion involving participants, focusing on opportunities and possible actions for the area, followed by an evaluation of the training session.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to connect European policies with the practical needs of Valle Subequana and explore how tools, skills and cooperation can be translated into local development initiatives.
The event will take place on Monday, 28 September 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Unione Montana Sirentina, Strada Provinciale 11, no. 14, Secinaro, Italy.
